Writing

Edward has been writing for many years now and his works include short films, such as 'JIM', based on dementia. This was highly praised for its emotional empathy toward the illness by the Alzheimer’s society.

Edward's writing primarily reflects the social problems facing society and the diversity within it. Other works in development /pre-production include two plays: 'Over The Top‘, a play about five soldiers in the trenches of the Somme in WW1 and 'Humanity Man‘, a play written after the death of a 16 year old who was stabbed to death for being gay. The story reflects the sadness and prejudice faced in society by many minority groups.

Edward has also worked on musicals as both composer and librettist. 'Cock Tales‘is a reflection or 'opposite' to the ‘Vagina Monologues‘, showing a more male perspective. Full of music and fun, a jolly good time is had by all…

An opera/musical called "Cricket" (A Tale of Humble Life) is an adaptation of Silas K.Hocking's book of the same name, with libretto, words and music (over 20 songs and duets etc). A heart rendering tale of two lonely children who strive to survive in the most awful circumstances, this is a child's tale in a frighteningly adult world.

Edward is also writing a book on the 'Finest Operatic Voices of Liverpool'. This is a history of the lives and voices of great singers from Merseyside. This also features a section on the 'Carl Rosa Opera' company with never before published material.
